“Wherefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.” (2 Corinthians 12:10 ASV)

As Paul was struggling in his weakness, he pleaded to the Lord to take it away, but the Lord said to him “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” (v.9)

I’ve always been confined by my weaknesses and frustrations. In the front of the Lord, I’ve always felt unqualified – not good enough for His ministry, not faithful enough to serve and glorify Him. But the Lord reminded me that He doesn’t call the qualified but He qualifies whom He called.

Paul’s struggle in his weakness is a reminder that your weaknesses don’t disqualify you, it qualifies you even more because they are where God’s working power manifest the most. Instead of asking God to take away your weaknesses and burdens, ask Him to use them for His greater glory.

Incredibly, with God, we can be strong not DESPITE OUR WEAKNESSES but BECAUSE OF OUR WEAKNESSES.

He can do what we cannot. Somehow, the things that make you feel so unqualified about yourself might be where your greatest potential will be fulfilled.

Surrender to God all your weaknesses and just allow Him to take over. It doesn’t mean you will never change.

It means the current version of you is the right version of you for this moment.

You have to see yourself as how God sees you – perfect and priceless. Your weakness doesn’t make you less than any of that. In fact, your weakness makes you perfect because it is what God wants to work with for “His power is made perfect in weakness.”
