Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.” Pilate said to Him, “What is truth?” -John 18:37-38a
Pilate was faced with a difficult situation when Jesus was brought to him to be sentenced to death, because he had to establish the facts to support the accusations of the people.
Pilate was in search of the truth.
And he ended up finding no fault, no sin, no basis for Jesus to be crucified. For the truth is – Jesus is not a sinner to be punished but He is the only Savior of mankind.
“And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” – Matthew 1:21
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. – Isaiah 53:5
Are you in search of “truth” like Pilate?
Know that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through Him.
So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” – John 8:31-32
